Pilot Plant for CO2 Separation

CO2-AbscheidungOne possible scenario for carbon dioxide separation from pulverized coal-fired power plants is the oxygen-combustion under flue gas recirculation. The effects of the changed combustion conditions require fundamental investigations of the pulverized coal combustion under real conditions.

For this purpose, the pulverized coal-fired 500 kW test facility of the University of Stuttgart was expanded. The main changes due to flue gas recirculation and oxygen injection were conceived and implemented by heat andĀ  power engineering. Specifically, this included the development of the process flow diagram, the necessary steel construction work, the pipeline planning as well as the procurement and installation of high-temperature blowers and air preheaters.
